ARTIST'S STATEMENT Jessica Martin The challenge for me as a graphic design student was to create a piece of fine art that represented an understanding of myself. I chose to do a black, stippled silhouette. The meaning behind the art is somewhat broad. I believe my life is split into two main parts, the things I have to do, and the things I want to do. To define this better I went back to that old saying that ³you must live your life with both feet on the ground.² I donıt believe that it applies to me because if a can find a balance between my life and my dreams, than I can live my life with one foot on the ground and one in the sky.
