FNC/COPC - Job Training

One goal of COPC job training activities will be to develop programs that train local residents in emerging or high-growth occupational areas. Other programs will be established that provide the support and training individuals need to move ahead in their current careers. Specific products will include:

• A career exposure and pre-skill training program for young adults focused on building trades and construction
• A career laddering support program for individuals who have completed the Nurses Aide Certification Program at Mott Community College or who are working as Nurses Aides in local hospitals to help move them into careers as Licensed Practice Nurses (LPNs)
• A contractor’s assistance program that provides training, technical assistance, and mentorship for women- or minority-owned small businesses in the North Central neighborhood

All activities, outputs, and outcomes associated with each activity are tracked and documented in their corresponding logic model:

Building trades & construction training program
Career laddering support program for Nurses Aides
Contractor’s Assistance Program
